PokeSurvivor (also written Poke Survivor) is a free, fan-made Pokémon survivors-like you can play right here. You only move; your partner Pokémon attacks automatically. Use WASD or the arrow keys on PC, or drag anywhere on a touch screen.
If login or co-op doesn’t work inside this frame, open the game in a new tab.
PokeSurvivor is a free, non-profit fan game in the style of Survivor.io and Vampire Survivors, made by the developer jpter78. All 966 Pokémon from the nine regions, Kanto to Paldea, can be your partner, shiny forms included.
You collect XP, pick one of three level-up cards, and push your moves to level 5 so they evolve. There are 64 moves and 59 of them can evolve.
Enemies come with personalities: healers, shielders, exploders and summoners.
Bosses and legendaries use four telegraphed attacks and get enraged at half health.
Weather (rain, sun, sand, snow, fog) and a type chart change how much damage you deal.
Outside a run there are per-region gacha (tickets are earned by playing, never sold), permanent upgrades for each Pokémon, daily and weekly missions, 127 achievements and leaderboards.
Each level offers three cards. Press R to reroll them.
These are our own tips for a first run, not official rules. The how-to-play guide explains each one in more detail.
Move in wide circles. The horde follows you in a line, which keeps it in front of your attack. Going back and forth walks you into it.
Max one move first. Feed level-ups into your starting move until it reaches level 5. One evolved move beats four weak ones.
Grab the upgrade card your move asks for. At level 5 a move needs a specific card (Power, Vigor, Reflexes or Sprint) before the golden evolution card appears. Ember and Water Gun, for example, both need Power.
Reroll off-plan cards. If none of the three cards fits your build, press R instead of taking a move you won’t level.
Switch targets for special enemies. Healers heal more the harder you hit, up to a cap, so don’t stand still trading damage with a pack around one.
Use map objects. Clear the enemies around a locked chest, then stand next to it to open it. Save healing springs for when you are actually low.
Keep moving at minute 30. Arceus appears with “Judgment of Arceus” and can’t be beaten by damage. The run becomes a chase.
Best starters at a glance
New players take a short personality quiz that suggests a partner, but you can choose any of the 29 starters. Your starting move matters most, because it is your only attack at the start. Our picks for a first run:
Starter
Starting move
Why we pick it
Mudkip or Sobble
Water Gun
Piercing jet that works at any range; attack multiplier 1.08
Bulbasaur, Chikorita, Turtwig or Grookey
Vine Whip
Wide arc that clears crowds around you
Scorbunny
Ember
Highest attack multiplier of any starter (1.09)
Froakie
Water Gun
Fastest starter (speed 108), useful when you only move
Stats come from the game’s client data, read on 2026-10-14, and can change with any update. The full ranking by early, mid and late game is in the PokeSurvivor tier list, and the best starter guide compares every first pick.
Mysterious Rifts and legendaries
A rift opens on the map at least every 2.5 minutes. Walk into it to fight a legendary in an arena of its type, each with its own terrain and weather: lava burns, ice is slippery and water slows you down. There are 87 legendaries and 18 arenas, from the Igneous Volcano to the Enchanted Forest.
Win: a ×10 gacha ticket and a bond. A bond links two moves so they fire together from one slot, up to four bonds.
Lose: you return to the map with no reward and the run continues.
In co-op: everyone enters the rift together.
All 18 arenas and type counters are in the rifts guide.
PokeSurvivor co-op multiplayer
The online version supports co-op for up to 4 players. You add friends by nickname, the host invites them to a room, and XP is shared. Stand next to a fallen teammate to revive them. If the host switches browser tabs, the run pauses for everyone. The co-op guide walks through setup.
Play PokeSurvivor without download
The pokesurvivor game runs in any modern browser on PC or phone. On a phone it plays in landscape only, and you can add it to your home screen so it opens fullscreen. Setup steps for iPhone and Android are in PokeSurvivor on mobile.
The developer also offers an offline zip on itch.io. It is single-player only and saves in your browser; co-op, cloud saves and leaderboards need the online version.
How PokeSurvivor compares to other survivors-likes
If you have played Vampire Survivors or Survivor.io, the loop is familiar: survive growing hordes, pick upgrades and build toward evolved attacks. PokeSurvivor adds Pokémon systems on top:
Partner instead of a character: you pick from 966 Pokémon, and each has its own stats and permanent upgrades.
Type matchups and weather affect damage, so the same move can hit harder in one arena than another.
Legendary rifts give a mid-run side fight with its own reward.
Online co-op for up to 4 players in the browser, with shared XP.
